As a photographer, where do you find the inspiration for the beautiful content you create?
The Ocean. Quotes. Photos. I find inspiration in every day life – living surrounded by so much natural beauty I am constantly refreshed and inspired. I always try to think: how do I want this image to feel – how can I portray the person that I am photographing. How can I push the boundaries of my creativity… I am a very visual creative so looking through inspo images, whether it be travel photographs, or old books, color palettes or just getting lost on Instagram that always gets my creative ideas going. There are so many amazing people doing inspiring things and taking photography to the next level that its hard not to be inspired by them! My business partner and favorite photographer Robyn Penn is one of my biggest inspirations, constantly pushing me to stay creative and live life to the fullest.
I always have to get in the ocean before I photograph, and usually after too.

“I don’t know if there was a certain ‘a-ha’ moment for me as such, but I had been working in corporate services for some time and wasn’t really enjoying it. I felt like a fish out of water and knew I wanted to run my own business. “

Kori Hahn is the owner of a boutique surf travel company, fellow surfer and yogini and an all round beautiful person. We recently chatted to Kori about creating Santosha Society, surfing and living in beautiful Bali.
As the owner of Santosha Society, a boutique surf travel company – what inspired you to create this business?
The dream of Santosha Society came to me while on an extended surf trip to Sri Lanka a few years ago. In Sri Lanka at this time there were not many western style establishments like western restaurants or yoga shalas to meet people. After a year in the country I found that I missed female companionship. I found myself constantly surrounded by male surfers. So, the dream of starting surf trips to bring together women for a week for surf, yoga and adventure came to me during this time. I knew that I didn’t want to run beginner-only style surf camps that offer beginner style yoga. I have been practicing yoga for 15 years and surfing for nearly 4 now. I wanted surf and yoga trips that were designed for experienced surfers and yogis, that would inspire beginners if they chose to join us as well. I really wanted it all to be top quality with less guests. I hoped to include amazing Ayurvedic food, great surf, incredible accommodation, world class yoga teachers and inspirational surf coaches in dreamy destinations. I can’t believe it, but thats what we have created.
